Raymond Wright found guilty of murdering Samantha Humphrey — Saratoga Springs Health news

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (WNYT)- Raymond Wright, the on-again, off-again boyfriend of Samantha Humphrey, has been found guilty of second-degree murder. The decision was given in Schenectady County Court Monday, November 2 after deliberations started late Friday. Prosecutors argued that Wright killed Humphrey the night of November 25, 2022. A medical examiner testified the week of October 26th that Humphrey was strangled and he believed her death to be a homicide. Wright s defense attorney, Peter Lynch said Humphrey killed herself after battling with poor mental health. Lynch said the autopsy is not conclusive as to whether she jumped in the river or not. Schenectady County District Attorney Robert Carney says his office will be holding a press conference Monday at 2 p.m. NewsChannel 13 s Dan Levy has been in court throughout the trial and will be reporting live from Schenectady Monday afternoon.
